Yes, you'd think we could manage an inventory. Actually, we can, but the SAQ gets in the way.
|
|
Our dearest monopoly imposes a cap on what agents can order. That started after COVID and it penalized those at that time who had reduced their inventory because of the utter post-COVID mess with too much wine on the market. Anyway, long story short, our maximum allowance represented about 45% of what we used to order annually.
|
The issue with this cap is it's wine at the warehouse + wine in transit. If all the wine arrives at pretty much the same time, and everything sells rapidly, then you wait 4 months for your next bottles to arrive.
|
That's our case: we sold everything by the end of August in about 3 weeks, so now we are waiting for the new orders to arrive. Unfortunately, the strike of SAQ office employees will surely delay everything.
|

So, maybe its time to think about upcoming orders and plan ahead.
|

Pago Aylés is celebrating its 25th anniversary in style. To commemorate the milestone, they release a special bottling of garnacha from vintage 2022. Ninety percent of the wine was aged for 14 months in two 500-liter fine-grain French oak barrels, carefully selected for their subtle and respectful contribution to the fruit. The remaining 10% had no contact with oak.

This exclusive edition of 1,408 numbered bottles is available on special order, by the unit.
|

Bottles in the special box are expected to be approximately 80$.
