García de La Jara 2023
It's time to clean your BBQs: the 2023 vintage of García de La Jara has just arrived.
A wine made from vines grown without synthetic herbicides or pesticides, 100 meters from the beach on a site designated as a chameleon reserve.
The family vineyard now managed by Carmen, Rocío, and Martín is rather unique as it is the source of the first red wine produced in Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
García de La Jara is 70% Petit Verdot, 20% Tannat, and 10% Tintilla de Rota (related to Graciano). After a night harvest, alcoholic fermentation begins slowly with indigenous yeasts following a few days of maceration in stainless steel vats.
Petit Verdot is usually harvested 1-2 weeks before the other grape varieties.
After fermentation and malolactic conversion are complete, the wine is blended and aged in second-passage oak barrels for approximately six months before bottling.
The result is full of fruit, with a beautiful tannic structure and well-balanced.
In our opinion, the 2023 vintage is their finest achievement yet.
Life is short: Abramos las botellas, ¡copón! ...
