For long-time clients and friends, you have often heard of Luis Moya, the man Marie-Claude has dubbed the poet of wine. In addition to making us laugh with his stories, Luis fascinates us with his passion, his dedication and above all, his talent. Both an artist and a technical expert, his many wines all have their own particularities and stand out from what is done in Navarra, his native land.

Luis stands out for his nomadic approach to winemaking. He rehabilitates ancestral vineyards when the plots seem to have a great potential. In the words of of Luis Gutiérrez (renowned Spanish critic for Robert Parker: The Wine Advocate), Luis expresses the revival of Navarra. For those who read Gutiérrez frequently, you know that he is not easily impressed.

Recently, even the Guía Peñín (the Spanish equivalent of the Guide Hachette) praised Luis, especially for his wine formerly dubbed Urbanita, renamed Cerro Amurdi blanco. It's our spring white!
|
Well, the Guía Peñín team didn't taste his new skin macerated garnacha blanco (orange) wine because, like us, they would have fallen under its spell.
|
Luis is an organic farmer and works the vines manually. In addition to being able to express the terroir through his many garnacha cuvées, he is one of the few able to make a totally explosive and complex wine with 100% graciano.
|
For Grenache lovers, El Yesal expresses all the complexity of the limestone terroir of this plot (yesal = gypsum in Basque). Yes, 94 pts awarded by Luis Gutiérrez.

Cerro Amurdi blanco 2020
50% viura, 50% garnacha blanca. The viura is grown in a plot in Mendigorria, while the garnacha blanca comes from San Martín de Unx. Both plots are located at an altitude of approximately 600 meters. Aged in stainless steel tanks for 6 months.
Alcohol: 12.0%; Free SO2: 15 mg/L.
