It is impossible to predict a pandemic, but the only sensible things we can do are to react quickly, constantly reassess the situation, learn and show solidarity.
The economic impact of the current situation is significant and will have repercussions in the short, medium and long term. Now is a good time to visit your local butcher, fishmonger or cheese shop often. The same is true for the restaurant industry which is severely affected by the pandemic. Many opt to close temporarily, but others have decided to either reduce their capacity in the dining room or offer take-out food. This is an opportunity to be seized, and barbuVINS suggests that you support this industry and encourage them by going for takeout.
It goes without saying that the situation also affects us. Like in the past years, we placed several orders in January and February for arrival in April and May. This year, we ordered a record amount of wine for our agency: a total of 460 cases from Bodegas Bhilar, Pago Aylés and Luis Moya. The date of availability of these arrivals is now uncertain. In addition, several restaurants have had to delay or cancel reservations of cases because of the current crisis, which has an immediate impact on our inventories, especially for some products whose inventory period at the SAQ is expiring very soon.
Currently, we have a few cases of several Bodegas Bhilar products, the majority of which will not be available until next year, so it's time to place your orders.
The recently updated price list of available products can be found on our website. The list was updated earlier today. Several wines are in low availability (less than 5 cases), so don't wait too long!
Remember to tell your friends and the sommelier of your favorite restaurant(s) to look at our wine list! Also, we'd appreciate to receive your comments on our Facebook page or on Instagram.
Thanks for sharing our passion.
